There are many options for enjoying the beautiful aquatics facilities at the Sussex County YMCA, including lap swim, open swim and family swim sessions scheduled each day. If you are interested in learning to swim, taking part in a water exercise class or become certified as a Lifeguard, the Sussex County YMCA has the right class for you.
• Youth Swim Lesson Program • Aquatic Programs for Adults • Competitive Swim Team • American Red Cross Certification classes
The natatorium at the Sussex County YMCA includes a 6 lane, 25yd swimming pool, which is fully accessible through a chair lift; a sauna, steam room and a whirlpool. The pool is staffed at all times by a certified Lifeguard, whose job is to ensure the safety of all members and participants using the facilities, and to enforce our health and safety rules. Please note the following:
• Proper attire is required for swimming at all times ie. bathing suit or swim trunks. • All children under the age of 10 must be supervised by an adult unless taking part in a YMCA program. • Children aged 6 years of age and under, and all non-swimmers, must be accompanied by an adult in the water at all times. • Children aged 10 to 13 years old may be in the pool unsupervised, as long as the parent remains in the facility. • All participants are required to enter the pool area through the Locker Rooms, and to shower before entering the pool. • The sauna, steam room and whirlpool are for co-ed adult use only (18 years of age and older)
