Sussex County YMCA’s Before and After School Child Care Programs offer peace of mind to working parents by providing programs on site at your child’s school. Our staff provide homework assistance, lead sports, games and crafts, and organize special events, keeping your child safe and happy until they are picked up. All children receive a daily snack at the program.

Programs are offered at the following schools:
Before and After School Programs are held at the Blairstown and Hardyston Elementary School
After School Programs are held at Franklin, Frankford and Montague Elementary Schools

Why choose YMCA School Age Child Care?
•    No need to worry about transportation - After School Care begins at school dismissal (including scheduled half days) until 6:00 PM. Before School Care (currently only at Blairstown & Hardyston) begins at 7:00 AM until school begins.
•    Need a flexible schedule? Choose between 2-5 days a week.
•    Great staff! Staff model and teach the YMCA core values: Caring, Respect, Responsibility and Honesty, and incorporate them into all activities.
•    It’s affordable! Tuition is paid monthly and is based on your weekly schedule. Discounts are also available for siblings.
•    It’s fun! Children participate in arts and crafts, gym activities, special events and games. Homework time and help is provided, so there is one less thing to worry about when you get home from work.
•    It’s safe! All of our School Age Child Care sites are licensed by the State of New Jersey’s Division of Youth and Family Services, meeting and exceeding their standards. Our staff all receive on-going training throughout the year, and are certified in CPR and First Aid.

How to Register:
Pre-registration is required for all Before and After School Programs. Please complete the Initial Registration form and return to the Sussex County YMCA with payment. Please also print out and complete the paperwork in the Parent Handbook and have the Physical Form signed by your child's doctor. All paperwork and payment must be completed and received at the Sussex County YMCA office at least 24 hours prior to you child starting in the program.
Tuition: The cost for all programs is based on the ten month school year calendar. The initial registration form, a non-refundable individual membership, registration fee and security deposit must be received before your child can be registered in the program. The security deposit (one month's tuition payment) is applied to the last month your child is in the program or June's payment. Subsequent tuition payments not received by the 1st of the month are subject to a $15 late fee.
Registration: A security deposit, individual membership fee and registration fee is due with the application. Subsequent payments are due prior to the 1st of every month.
Extra Days: Fees are $10 for the first child per day, and $9 per day for each additional child.

Vacation Care
Held at the Sussex County YMCA in Hardyston, Vacation Care Programs offer a variety of activities to keep your child engaged and happy while you work. Activities are organized around seasonal themes and include swimming, sports & games, arts & crafts and cooking. Half and Full Day programs with Before and After Care offer flexibility for working parents. Pre- registration required.
